At Bank House Dental Centre we invest in modern equipment because it makes treatment more accurate, more comfortable and easier to understand. Here is some of the technology you will see when you visit.
Intra-oral scanner: no more messy impressions
Instead of biting into a tray of impression paste, a small handheld wand scans your teeth and gums in a few minutes and builds an accurate 3D model of your mouth on screen. It is quick and comfortable, and much easier if you have a strong gag reflex.
We use the scanner to plan and make clear aligners for straightening teeth, crowns and bridges, and dentures.
Monitoring your mouth digitally
Because every scan is saved, we can compare scans taken months or years apart and see even small changes: teeth moving position, tooth wear from grinding or erosion, and gum recession. Spotting these early means we can act before they become a bigger problem, and you can see the changes for yourself on screen.
Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays give a clearer, more detailed picture than old-style film and use around 90% less radiation. The images appear on screen straight away and can be enlarged, so we can show you exactly what we see and explain any treatment you need.
Intra-oral camera
Our small high-resolution camera lets you see inside your own mouth on screen. If you need treatment, we can show you exactly why and how we plan to proceed, and afterwards we can show you the result.
Sterilisation and cross-infection control
Every instrument is cleaned and sterilised between patients in a dedicated room used only for decontamination, so there is never any compromise on cleanliness.
