Emergency Dental Care – High Wycombe and Aylesbury

Urgent dental care available at the Bank House Dental Centre.

On a daily basis, most of us perhaps think little about our teeth other than to brush and hopefully floss them twice a day.

When dental pain strikes though, it is all that we can think about and it seems to almost totally consume our thoughts.

Whilst most dental problems can be avoided through good care and regular check ups at our dentist near High Wycombe, even the best cared for teeth can suffer unexpected damage that needs urgent dental attention.

What to do

As soon as your dental emergency arises, the first thing that you should do is to reach for your phone and call the Bank House Dental Centre on 01844 343381 straight away.  The sooner that you can call us during the day, the more likely we are to be able to fit you in for treatment the same day.

Please don’t put off the phone call, hoping that the pain will go away, it very rarely does. Even non painful breakages should also be dealt with as soon as possible as, broken teeth will be weaker and may break further, making treatment more complicated than it otherwise may have been.

Alleviating the pain

However quickly we are able to see you, there will almost inevitably be a period of time before this happens. With severe dental pain, a few minutes can feel like hours and some pain relief should be sought.

Many over the counter painkillers are effective at pain relief and should hopefully be sufficient to keep the pain at a manageable level until your appointment with one of our local dentists.

In the meantime, depending on the problem, it is best to avoid foods that are either very hot or cold as this is likely to cause some discomfort. Also, obviously, avoid any foods that you have to bite down on as that may lead to pain or further damage.

A warm flannel or similar to the area may also sooth the pain a little too, although, once again, this should not be too hot.

Non registered patients

Because we know how debilitating a bad toothache can be, we also offer our emergency dental care to anyone in the High Wycombe and Aylesbury areas, even if they are not registered with our practice.

Our friendly dental team are here to help and, providing that you call as soon as possible, we will attempt to do so the very same day.

In the event of a dental emergency, call the Bank House Dental Centre on 01844 343381.
